Day 229
April 26, 2008
Went to a party for a good friend today. Pappy has accomplished so much in the past few years, Emt School, Paramedic School, and now he's a State Certified Firefighter II!
We're so proud of you!!!
And of course, I couldn't resist taking photos of all of the children having fun!!!
She didn't want me to take her photo, but I snuck this one. How could I not! She's perfectly pregnant and so cute!!!
Hmmm....my thoughts exactly!
LOL

Day 222
April 19, 2008
I just had to add a few more fun photos from the Relay!!
This lady was awesome! This outfit is her own creation...she didn't need any of our team photo props for this one!
Now 80, she battled uterine and cervix cancer over 42 years ago....she was the longest cancer survivor for the event.
I can't wait to see what outfit she comes up with next year!! :-)
American Cancer Society Employees...who says you can't have fun at work!!!
Commissioner Nancy Harris was there!!

Day 221
April 18, 2008
Well, I haven't posted in almost a week. It's been a CRAZY week at that!!
In addition to everything else I do, I joined a Relay for Life team to walk for the American Cancer Society! We had a LOT to do to get ready, so my camera didn't get much attention this week.
But I made up for it at the Relay for Life event!!! :-)
The Kick-Off. Friday night, April 18th at 6pm.
The Kick-off is the Survivor Walk. Survivors wore purple shirts, and it was so AWESOME to see so many survivors walking friday night. Look at that sea of purple! Inspiring!!!
Remember Shelby? He is battling cancer in his brain stem, but is doing well and was seen riding his bike for the survivor walk. It was so awesome to see Shelby out and about!!
You can see his family photos Here
And I couldn't go without getting this photo of our very own PE coach Doug.
We love you Doug!!!
Back at our tent. My close friend and teammate Brenda. We painted our nails purple in honor of Brenda's mother who lost her life to breast cancer over 15 years ago.
Gabi and Brenda....Gabi is our team captain. She did such an awesome job pulling everything together, and coordinated raising an awesome amount of money in a very short amount of time!!
See the torch? I made it!! It was our team's baton for the relay...it had to be in someone's hand, walking the track, from 6pm to 12 noon the next day!!
Gabi & Brenda being silly....
Part of our fundraiser was silly photos of anyone who wanted one!
$5 for a 5x7 printed that night...we had a good turn out!!
Teammates Will and Tess
Tess and our froggy friend
Some of the other relay participants and their silly photos....
After being up ALLLLL night long..we got a little silly....
My co-worker and friend Karen.
Karen came out and walked for over 2 hours for us on Friday...and boy did we need it..we were already exhausted!! Then, bright and early she showed up Saturday morning and saved us again! I lost track of how many hours and laps she did...but just know that it was a LOT!!! We really appreciate your support and effort Karen!!!
Beautiful balloon archway in the Sat early morning light...
Sleepy people get silly...apparently, there was some mischief through the night..some items were taken hostage by members from other teams...ransom notes were left...etc....it was actually pretty funny!
Well....in retaliation...this gentleman was taken hostage!!!
All worked out in the end...the ransom money was raised, and all items were returned unharmed ;-)
She's proclaiming the details of the hostage and ransom situation.
The beginning of the closing ceremony
Releasing the Doves of Hope
Sending her wishes and dreams on her dove....
