We are thankful that is is on the opposite side of the yard from the house, and that it wasn't discovered by someone falling in it!

This is the view before I mowed the yard
This is what happened when I mowed. Thank goodness I was being careful and had a good hold on the lawn mower!!
It's a few feet wide, and seems to be at least 4 or 5 feet deep.
It opens up a bit at the bottom toward the back of the yard (opposite of the house), you can see there is more open space under there that dirt may collapse into, but it's close to under a palm tree, so I wonder if the palm roots are holding it better there.

Yikes! I asked Matt (dh) and he suggested calling DEP so they can come out look at it and make sure it's not going to get bigger and suggest what to do in regards to filling it in, etc. Good luck!
