This little cutie is one of two that my friend found in her backyard. We've had some MAJOR weather this past week...over 30 inches of rain in some areas, and wind too. The top of a dead tree fell in her yard. This little cutie and one sibling were on the ground, cold, grey, and nearly lifeless when my friend found them. She warmed them, fed them a bit, and took care of them for a day while her husband tried to reconstruct and reattach the nest.
Last I heard, the babies were in the reconstructed nest, waiting for mom and dad to come back. Wildlife rehabilitators say that if it's within a few days, mom and dad WILL come back and resume their care.
I can't wait till Tuesday to hear how it's going!
